November newsletter and Vintage Pin Cushions

MACINTYRE QUILTERS AND STITCHERS           NOVEMBER   NEWSLETTER

Hello Ladies, can you believe its almost Christmas again?

Gail C saw this in Warwick last week and thought some ladies might enjoy making this instead of bags (some did not order bags) . The kit is $30 and the special Christmas paper is on special to cover the fronts of the drawers.

If anyone is interested she could order the kits but she needs to know by the end of the week. Please phone her ASAP.  Also she saw a good easy Xmas decoration . You will need two 7. 5 inch circles of xmas fabric and a xmas button, needle and thread to make it.

Jo Warden also has a cute decoration that you will need an 8 inch square of xmas fabric and a button to make. If you ordered a bag you will need to bring 16 suffolk puffs or buttons etc to decorate it. ( Or material to make them.)

THE PARTY  -  Yeah celebrate the year and be thankful for good sewing friends.

We will meet at the Parish centre on Sunday the 16th November at 1.00pm with our hand sewing kits and fabrics etc for sewing.

At 6.00 pm we will go directly to the Railway Hotel for our Christmas Party. We have booked the little room so we need to know how many will be going please let me know before the Tuesday of that week. Just so we have rough numbers.

This is the proposed project for January.  The kits are king single $70 and queen $100 and Gail need orders by November meeting for those of you who want to make it.  Gail is applying for RADF funding so we
will have a price for two days by November meeting.

At our last meeting we made this beautiful vintage pin cushion by Debbie McGee.

JULY Koolkat Quilting

This month we had a visit from Kathy Adams from   koolkatquilting.com.au

We had a great day we had about 19 ladies, it was nice to have a large group for the day. We had a few ladies who don't usually come to McIntyre Quilters and  Stitchers and I really hope the outcome of the weekend was such that they will come again because we really loved to have them there.  By the end of the weekend most ladies had their butterflies together and some even had theirs finished.

Thanks to Bernie M for cooking lovely Chicken Korma Curry and Osso Bucco for dinner and delicious potato and bacon soup for our lunch .

Thanks to Margie S for the delicious cheesecakes for dessert.

Thanks to Gail Clark, the president of the group for the organisiation and effort she puts into planning activities  for everybody to do.

CHANGE IN PLANS - Due to family commitments I have had to change plans for AUGUST .  We will now do "The Vintage Sewing Cushion" on the October weekend. I hope that doesn't inconvenience anyone too much.
